1. What does Site.link do?

Site.link performs three main functions: data gathering, alarming, and control. See Description for a detailed explanation of these functions. Also see our online demo of Site.link.

Additionally, Site.link offers downloadable reports, audit reports, online help, and customized access (e.g., venture partners see only their wells).

2. What are the benefits of Site.link?

Site.link offers two main benefits: control and cost savings.

Control your:

  • site (remotely),
  • resourses (trucking, field staff), and
  • data (collection frequency, customize access by field staff and venture partners).

Save money by:

  • maximizing 'up time',
  • detecting problems sooner,
  • deploying staff efficiently (e.g., trouble sites first),
  • reducing travel time and expense, and
  • reducing environmental clean up costs.
3. Who is Site.link for?

Site.link is suitable for oil and gas producers and water treatment companies of any size.

4. What does Site.link cost?

There are two pricing components for Site.link: hardware and monthly service.

For hardware, you can expect to pay between $3500 and $6000, plus costs for any instrumentation that you wish to add to your site. A detailed quote will be provided by your dealer.

Monthly service charges vary depending on the industry and the amount of data being shipped, but you can expect to pay between $80/month and $250/month.

For more pricing details, see Description.

5. Who are Site.link's competitors?

Site.link's competitors are:

  • Kenonic Controls,
  • Zed I Probes,
  • Wireless Matrix, and
  • Metrix Networks.

6. How is Site.link different from these competitors?

Site.link is different in two ways.

  1. End-to-end solutions. We take care of everything including field installation, server programming, training, and ongoing support of the service.
  2. Hosted. Site.link owns and maintains the computer hardware and software. This lets the customer focus on their core business and avoid hiring IT professionals.

Pricing is similar among the competitors, but Site.link gives you more for your money.

7. Where can I get Site.link service?

See Dealers for dealer information.

Site.link service is available in Western Canada within CDPD (Cellular Digital Packet Data) network coverage, or anywhere in North America using satellite service. See Coverage for more details and maps.

8. How secure is Site.link?

There are three levels of security for Site.link data transmission:

  1. Data is encrypted on the CDPD network between your site and the Site.link host. (No one can 'listen' to your data being transmitted.)
  2. Data is 128-bit encrypted between the host and end user. (This is the same standard used for online banking.)
  3. Data is protected by user name and password. (You can customize access so that end users only have access to specific data.)
9. Can Site.link monitor things besides
oil and gas wells?

Yes, Site.link can customize solutions for monitoring. We'll survey the site and work with you to provide a quote for both capital and monthly costs.
