We started building Site.link in 1999 when we saw a great opportunity to use an internet-based service to bring the benefits of automation to small companies for an affordable price. For two years, we developed and tested the technology, launching the business in June 2001. For the first seven months of operation, our customers were exclusively oil and gas producers. However, in March 2002, we saw that we could be part of a solution for water treatment. Small and intermediate sized municipalities, especially in rural areas, have a strong need for simple affordable automation. We have begun to serve that need. Our plans for the future are to focus on these two markets and provide the best quality solution and service to our customers. We believe this philosophy ensures customer satisfaction and profitable growth for the Site.link service. Our relationship with SaskTel Site.link is not a company, but a service that was built entirely by SaskTel and some consultants in its employ. Site.link is now sold by SaskTel through a series of dealers in Western Canada. SaskTel has over 90 years of communications and technology experience, running a provincial phone company and serving over one million customers. This experience was used in the development of the Site.link service. We paid proper attention to design specifications, supportability, adaptability, and scalability. Since the launch of Site.link, this attention to development detail has paid off with operational time over 99%.
